OPENING:           Meeting Start at 7:00pm

 

Alpha:      • Last week is the last chapter meeting for the semester.

                • Wednesdays are letter days and every third Thursday of the month is Badge Attire

                • Waffle house eating contest is this Tuesday with sign ups starting this Monday. 

                • Con Clave is February 26th through 28th – who wants to go?

                • Smokey Mountain Golf Course is giving student discounts.

Anouncements:                                                                                                                                              

• Monday/Wednesday/Friday; Brothers wear letters and then for Tuesday and Thursday where rush shirt or letters.

• Study Hall contract passed-Contract is just for this fall semester

• The names taken from the calling of alumni meeting that we had generated about thirty names.  The phone call meeting went really well.

•Standards chair will be meeting with the High Sigma and the High Alpha

• Bust Committee will meet this upcoming Saturday the 19th at 12:00PM

• Tailgating had a great turnout with Alumni and Brothers.  Thanks for the good job on clean up.  Make sure that in the future when loading up the vehicles that the belongings are taken back to the right people.  If the belongings belong to you take them with you; do not leave them in brother’s vehicles overnight.

• Alumni Committee again had a good turnout with the phone call meeting.  Preparing to mail out messages through email soon.

•IFC will be having a live band out at the band practice field for Monday the 14th at 6:00 pm for the first night of Rush.

• Xi-Man events are coming up on the dates of September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.  Any questions about these events regarding time, location, etc. please contact our High Theta.

Anouncements:

• High Zeta meeting open to the public.  Meetings held at 5:30PM every Wednesday in the Rogers Room.

• Brothers where letters on Wednesdays every week.

• Watermelon Bust is almost complete.  Committee set up with the following members-J-Bob, Wesley, Wheeler, and Honeycutt.  Watermelon Bust committee will be meeting this Wednesday at Brother Wesley establishment.  Time will be 7:00PM

• September 25th is the Associate Member Ceremony and the Crescent Ceremony.  Nominees will be taken at the next chapter meeting.

• Payment dues and or payment plans are required to be set up with the High Tau by September 13th.

• Rush shirts are ordered and on their way.

• Study Hall will start after rush.  Contracts for each individual Brother regarding study hall will be ready for reading and signatures for the next chapter meeting.

• Socials with other organizations are in full swing.  Looking at having a paintball social with the Alpha Chi organization at the end of September.  Delta Zeta social in mid to late October, and a Toga party in mid to late November.     

• Brother Schweikart gives compliments on the job well done by the High Alpha and the fellow Brothers for the summer meeting concerning the future plans of the fraternity that were discussed and put into action. 

• The Alumni have been discussing and investigating future housing plans for this fraternity chapter here at WCU.  It is recommended that we set up a meet and greet with the alumni about the issue. 

• The Rocky Nelson last semester and this semester has been in the negatives as far as the funding goes.  This is expected to happen with the economy like it is and so the alumni have been brainstorming a back up fund for the scholarship.  A fund raiser idea has been suggested and the fraternity needs to make some arrangements and figure out some ideas.

• Brother Schweikart is asking for some Greek support for his class meeting this coming Wednesday at 11:15 in Belk 358.  He is dedicating his class time that involves freshman for the Greek life on campus.

•September 22nd is the National fair that Brother Schweikart is going to need help with.  This is an all day event on Tuesday. 

• October 9th -25th, Brother Schweikart is going to be out of the country and is asking for an alumni presence for the homecoming game. 

• Intramural sports is requesting a cat card to be present at every event for the sign purposes. 

• Standards is going to look at the offices of Delta and Rho.

• Zaxby’s is looking for something new to do this year.  Had great success last semester and looking for another good turnout.

• Rush Committee is Billy, Jack, Miles, and Doodle

• IFC – September 14th, live band, Monday at 6PM-9PM.  Need to get paper work for the weekly event underway. 

• Next Wednesday will be the all Greek cookout in front of the UC starting at 6PM.

• The High Tech is asking everyone to start using and visiting the website.

• Fellow Brothers going to Vanderbilt this weekend.  Any partakers are welcome to come.  Talk to Brother Childers.

• Brother Childers and Canale are meeting with Sam Miller this coming Tuesday at 11AM.  If any thoughts are wanting to be expressed please get with Brother Childers and Canale.

 
 

Lambda Chi Alpha

Zeta Minutes

 

 

Time: 5:30 PM

Date: August 26th 2009

Place: Rogers Room

 

Anouncements:

• Will be expecting the Zeta report forms to be emailed by Tuesday at 12:00am to the President, Justin McCann.  These forms from each officer will help speed up the meeting and ensure that all the information needed to be passed along the communication line is passed correctly. 

• High Zeta meetings will continue and be held every Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the Rodgers room in the University Center.

• The payment plans for the fraternity dues will need to be completed by September 13th.  If this date is not met concerning the fraternity dues; brothers will not be allowed to participate in fraternity activities including socials, intramurals, etc.

• The first 75$ of the fraternity dues will be collected by the first meeting this coming Sunday.  The date is this Sunday the 30th.

• The High Sigma has made a contract concerning grades, suspension, etc, and will present it to chapter this coming Sunday the 30th.

•The Rocky Nelson scholarship fell threw and is now being replaced by a new one. 

• September 25th will be the Associate Member ceremony.  Associate Member ceremony parts will be handed out this coming Sunday the 30th.

• October 3rd will be the Big Brother Ceremony

• Brother Initiation will be December 5th

• Have a lot of great parties (socials) coming up.  The first one is a mixer in late September.

• Rush shirts are done.  Charcoal gray is the color.  Will be gearing up for a shirt sell with other organizations to put some money in savings.

• Need to have pictures posted on the website of Brothers having fun.  Something to show the potentials when they are surfing our website.

• Watermelon Bust is almost done as far as planning goes.  The final shirt proof will be passed around soon. 

• There is a calendar being made up for the general fraternity.  This will be our main calendar that will be made up and carried to all meetings for updates on the upcoming events. 

• Phone tree is updated and ready to go out to the fraternity for this coming meeting on Sunday the 30th.
